Review

Can I just start by saying "wow"? Raasch is an amazing writer, and this book shows her talent with creating a different world full of war, love, and, loyalty. Meira is a strong willed girl fighting for a life that she's only ever heard story of from her birth. You watch her grow from a sixteen year old orphaned girl to the girl that may very well end the raging war and slavery to her people.
I found the action of the war and the breather in-between to be perfectly balanced to keep you fully immersed in the book. If your looking for more than just a bit of action then you wont be disappointed either for every warrior has to have a love life to go along with it. Now while Meira's love life is a bit complicated you can never say that you would guess what would happen next.
Raasch uses detailed imagery of scenery and faces that put you in the scene of the book. She writes so that your heart races when the character do and you can't help falling in love with them, flaws and all. With that being said I give this books five stars and recommend it to everyone who enjoys a good mythical book.
