"I'll talk to Marcus," Aiden said, voice gruff.
" You already said that."
" I did?" His head angled slightly.
"We should head back." I swallowed. Aiden wasn't moving, and every muscle in my body demanded that I cross that tiny space between us. But I pushed back the chair, making a horrible scratching noise. I stood. There didn't seem to be enough air in the little room with faded, pea green walls. I started toward the door, but stopped when I realized I'd left my bag on the table. I turned around. Aiden stood in front of me. I hadn't heard him rise or move toward me. He had my bag in hand, book already tucked inside. And he was standing so close that the tips of his shoes brushed mine. My heart was racing and it felt like a dozen butterflies had exploded in my stomach. I was half afraid to breathe, to feel what I knew I wasn't allowed. He placed the strap of my bag over my shoulder and then he tucked my hair back behind my ear. I thought that maybe he was going to hug me—or shake me, because that was always a possibility. But then his hand slid over my cheek and his thumb smoothed over my lower lip, careful with the faint scar over the center, even though the pain had long since ceased.

The newest teaser for Sentinel

"When life give you lemons, make lemonade, but when life gives you a series ticked off god gunning for your ass, you prepare for war and hope for paradise."

This is so Alex.

"And he would wait forever for me, just as I would wait forever and a day for him."

“Poor Persephone.” He stared down his nose at the god. “That must be hard on her if that’s what gets you off.”
I wrinkled my nose.
“If her name drips from your forked tongue one more time, I will rip it out,” Hades promised, voice deadly low.
Was his tongue really forked?
His lips curled up on one side. “What? You don’t like me talking about your wife?” He looked over at the three of us. “Is abduction as a means of marriage still all the rage these days?”
Seth arched a brow.
“Uh… no,” I said, shaking my head. “It’s really frowned upon.”
Hades cheeks deepened in color. “You’re really pushing me.”
“I haven’t even begun to push," the Titan replied.
Aiden sighed and said under his breath, “Well, this conversation has really digressed.”
“Yeah,” I muttered, crossing my arms as I watched the two try to out snark each other.
This is going smoothly. Seth’s voice filtered through my thoughts.
I kept my eyes on the Titan. He’s not that… bad. I mean, all things considered, right?
His answering chuckle tugged at my lips. I sort of like him.
Of course.

Startled, my head jerked up and my eyes met his.
They were a furious shade of gunmetal gray, and they were so open. Raw pain flowed from them, and I wanted to look away from that, to take the coward’s way out.

“My heart stopped when that damn door closed on me. I could hear you two fighting. I could hear him taunting you, and I could hear him breaking your bones. And there wasn’t a damn thing I could do about it.” He placed his hands on either side of my legs. Tension rippled through the muscles in his arms.
“You never should’ve faced something like that alone.”
“But you would’ve died.”
“And because I love you, I am willing to die to save you from that. Don’t you dare take that decision from me again.”

"Deal," I murmured

His hand found my cheek, and I closed my eyes. He whispered my name. My mouth opened, but there were no words to be spoken. There was just anticipation and the need to lose myself. At first, his lips brushed across mine lightly, testing my response and the gentle nature of the kiss was disarming. I placed my hands on his shoulders and the tightened when he swept his lips over mine again. His kiss deepened, and I felt like I was swimming in raw  emotion. It was elating and yet confusing at the same time. I kissed him back, and his hands dropped to my waist, pulling  me closer.

Seth's grip tightened and his eyes fell shut. I slipped a hand under the hem of his shirt. He in haled and tied to step back, but I followed him... a bit to closely. My leg got snared with his. For someone normally so graceful, he wasn't right then. He went down, half on his side and half on his back.
And I, well, I was right where I wanted to be. Giggling, I pressed my mouth on his neck. "Yay me," I murmured against his ski

"I really wished he'd let go of my arm, because his fingers dug into my skin and something...something else was happening.  I felt it move inside me, twisting and wrapping itself through my core, and with each coil I knew it was linking us together." (ARC p. 186)

This kiss was nothing like the first one we’d shared. Its rawness left us both breathless. There wasn’t a moment of hesitation or indecision. There was just want and need and a thousand other powerful, crazy things. His lips scorched mine, his hands dropped to my shoulders, sliding down my arms. My skin burned under my sweater, but oh, this was so much more than just a kiss. It was the way he touched the deepest parts of me. My heart and soul would never be the same. It was nearly overwhelming to realize something as powerful as that and it brought a sense of urgency that pushed me into the unknown.

"Ever since I've met you, I've wanted to break every rule." Aiden turned away, the muscles in his neck tensing. He sighed. "You'll become the center of someone's world one day. And he'll be the luckiest son o a bitch on this earth."

His words created a mad rush of strong emotion. I was hat- so incredibly hoe. I really did think the world ended right then. Aiden glanced over at me, his lips parting. The intensity in his gaze , the hunger in his eyes left me dizzy. His chest rose sharply.

"Thank you." My voice sounded thick. " Thanks for doing all of this for me."

"You don's need to think me."
"When am I ever supposed to thank you?'
"When I do something that is truly worth thanking me for."

"Tight coils sprung within me-- another thing I'd grown accustomed to. It happened whenever I laid eyes on hm. It wasn't so much the near perfect curve of his cheekbones or the way his smile hinted at a set of dimple. Or that impossibly ripped body of his---"

Fallen star series

Fallen star series

The Fallen Star by Jennifer L. Armentrout series drew me in from the very beginning. I loved following the character as they grew and matured. The story was new and different making you want to learn more. It was slow in parts and I believe that there should have been slightly more romance. It would've helped with the character development. Of course with Gemma lack of character you already get to see her grow into her own person throughout the story.

Alex need to protect Gemma when she probably save him more than the other way around is quiet funny and sweet. There need to stay with each other even when all they do is argue about what they should do gives you a good entertainment, and Gemma's ultimate need to find out her past with Alex keeps you from putting any of these books down.

Review

Atlantia by Ally Condie is beautifully written. The story between two sisters fighting to save and protect one another is absolutely heart breaking and inspiring.  Watching Rio, the main character, grow from this girl that lost her mother and her sister to having to save her whole city. I'm not going to lie it was difficult to keep interest in this book and its definitely not meant for everyone, but if you can get threw the slow parts and get over there being absolutely no real action then you'll love it. I give this book three stars.

Review

Scored by Lauren McLaughlin starts out slow and ends slow, at least for me. After I got into it though I didn't put the book down.  It put an interesting thought on life and opened my mind to the world which is incredible for such a small book.
I don't recommend this book to people wishing for action packed romance but if your looking for a little romance a little law braking and one big lie then you'll like this book. I didn't mind the slightly slow pace of the book, but I did mind the ending. I felt it was incomplete though it wrapped up loos ends. I suppose all books must end, but this one has so much more left unsaid that I found it very unsettling. I hope to see a new book in this series but I doubt it will come. I will most certainly keep an eye out for other books by this author.
In all I give this book three stars. ***
